Herculean Partner: Kris Verbruggen!

Kris Verbruggen started working at Ferranti Computer systems in 1999, right after attaining his Master’s degree in Applied Economic Sciences at the KU Leuven in 1998 and an additional Master’s degree in Economics and International Marketing at the University of Helsinki one year later. He’s a keen traveler (he even wrote his thesis in Tanzania) who’s got a weak spot for Eastern Europe.

It all started back in 2001, when Kris was one of UNIVEG Belgium’s operation managers. Working in Warsaw and Poznan, he quickly adjusted to the Polish way of life and so he’s been living there ever since. He still often travels, usually within the Polish borders. Moscow, Bucharest & Sofia are some examples of his favorite destinations across Eastern Europe. Kris then went on to become UNIVEG’s Logistics Director for the Central and Eastern Europe region.

Today, Kris is the CEO of Frigo Logistics, Poland’s market leader in the distribution of frozen produce, where he oversees 400 employees in the company’s 3 different branches. Next to that, Kris and his business partner Chris Geirnaert founded Music & Events Poland, which now organizes the Night of the Proms in Poland and the Hercules Trophy Poland. Back in the days when he was still working for Ferranti, Kris participated in the third edition of the Hercules Trophy. That was an experience he’s never been able to forget. In 2016, he and his business partner gave 40 Polish teams that very same amazing experience. The second edition of the Hercules Trophy Poland is scheduled for May 2017 and will undoubtedly be just as fantastic –or even better!

Aside from his career, Kris is a loving father of three children, aged 2 to 10, who claim the majority of his free time. He likes to spend (what’s left of) his time playing the piano and cooking. In short, if you’re looking for a delicious free meal, a lovely concert or Poland’s ultimate teambuilding event: Kris Verbruggen is your man!
